Impact Aid

Dear Parents, Family Members, and Community Members;

I hope you and your family members have had a great 2017 so far.  I’m very honored to serve the community as the new Superintendent of the Jefferson County School District. I’m writing to you from this new role about the process of communicating with families of Native American students and community members about the participation of native youth in District programs and how we can improve outcomes for our students in the future.

I am asking for your help in three ways.  First, please review the attached Indian Policy and Procedures (IPPs); so named by the United States Department of Education.  Second, please answer the three question survey about how often and in what manner it is best to communicate and receive information from you about our procedures, programs, involvement of students, and learning outcomes for students.

The completed survey can be returned to one of the following location: Warm Springs K-8 Academy, Warm Springs Library, Warm Springs ECE, Madras High School or the District Office no later than January 2, 2018.  The survey can also be completed online using the link below.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this process.  I look forward to working with you more closely in the years to come in order to ensure improved results for our students. Finally, in February, review the information which will be distributed about the participation of Native American students in district programs and results; providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
