JCMS White Buffalos Win Gold at OBOB Tournament

In late February, in a tournament that featured 8 schools from Deschutes and Jefferson Counties, the White Buffalos of JCMS stampeded their way to the gold medal. The team consisted of:

  • Isla Smiley
  • Ella Barfield
  • Ellie Adams
  • Sophia Johnson
  • McKaylay Peterson

They ended up defeating the Huskies of Elton Gregory by a final score of 75-60.  

The White Buffalos coming out of pool play were seeded #1. In winning, JCMS became the first team in the tournament’s history to win back-to-back titles and will be a favorite at the regional tournament, where a state berth will be awarded. 

The Seven Peaks School in Bend will be hosting the regional tournament on Saturday, March 14th. Both JCMS and the Warm Springs K-8 Academy will be in action.
