Madras, OR – Effective immediately, all Madras High School sports have been put on hold after the
Governor’s Office released statewide freeze guidance for K-12 sports just today.
The order prohibits all indoor high school training, practices, and indoor activities at this time,
and limits the maximum capacity for each outdoor high school sporting event to 50 people (which
includes participants) while maintaining 6 feet of physical distancing between each person.
The order goes on to require self-quarantine for 14 days upon return to Oregon if an individual has
traveled out of state for recreational purposes or as part of an athletic traveling team.
As a result of these new guidelines, it is with a heavy heart that MHS must place all its athletics
– training, conditioning and competitions – on hold effective immediately until further notice.
Please feel free to reach out to your coaches for support and if you have questions.
