Our students at Buff Elementary were treated to an assembly and lesson from Gavin Begay. He is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
He talked to students in grades K-2 about hand drums and how they’re made. Students got a chance to play the hand drums and then Gavin performed a couple of songs with them!
This was coordinated with the High Desert Education Service District. The purpose is to teach and showcase aspects of the CTWS culture.
