Dear Families and Community Members of JCSD 509-J,
We appreciate your patience as we have navigated the complicated COVID-19 situation together for the last few weeks. The district has been following guidance from Governor Brown and the Oregon Health Authority to keep our schools open as long as possible, yet, working behind the scenes to plan for a possible closure of our schools due to COVID-19. Last night, Governor Brown ordered that all Oregon K-12 schools close beginning Monday, March 16 and concluding Tuesday, March 31 (Students are expected to return to school on Wednesday, April 1).
What This Means for Students: Friday, March 13, will be a regular school day. This will allow students to collect learning materials that they might need and take home any personal items they might want while schools are closed. Our educators will also be able to talk with students and to help prepare them for this closure. At this time, students are expected to return to school on Wednesday, April 1st. We want to reiterate that there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Jefferson County School District 509-J students or staff at this time.
Monday, March 23 — Friday, March 27 is Jefferson County School District’s 509-J regularly scheduled Spring Break. All students should plan to return to school on Wednesday, April 1.
All athletics and activities will be canceled starting “today” and during the closure period per OSAA directive. https://mailchi.mp/52fae8f9a884/osaa-weekly-august-22-406805?e=cf82af0150

Meals will be served outside the cafeteria doors at the following locations: Madras High School; Bridges High School and Warm Springs K-8. Meal service times: Breakfast 7:30am-8:30am; Lunch 11:00am-11:45am.
We will continue to provide updates to our families and community members as we receive information. Please see the Governor’s message from last night which is posted on our District webpage.
